My grandparents built a home at Lake Tahoe in Rubicon Bay, in 1962. My memories of traveling through Reno on the way to Lake Tahoe made it easy for me to settle here in 1991. I had no idea what was ahead or the deep connection that Reno would ultimately have for me. I raised my son here and found my way in the culinary world here. Reno allowed me the chance to learn, to grow and to ready myself for a national platform. This community came to cooking class, bought cookbooks, watched television spots, read countless articles, cooked my recipes and most importantly, championed me. The Biggest Little City was the greatest and most patient teacher. Reno showed me the importance of giving back and supporting a cause. Reno is an amazing place! I would not be the person that I am if it were not for this incredible place that I call home.
