When I drove west from Maine during the summer of 1995, Northern Nevada was the most fantastic place I had ever seen. I took almost no pictures until Nevada. I found Reno to be really fantastic because of its setting and mountain backdrop. It was the kind of place I would have been happy to stop and settle in, but my new job was in San Francisco. So off I went. SF is very pretty, of course, but Reno is one of the few places where the West can still be found, along with wide open unmatched beauty.
