From Here to There

"I went from a poor kid with out a future to a poor kid with goals and ambitions"

meisha_mackHello my name is: Miesha Ann Mack and I am 19 years old.
I was born in Orville California moved to Sacramento when I was 3 years old. Then moved to the great state of Nevada in 2004. I grew up with 10 brothers and sisters and a single mother. My family had it tough my mother was not always around when she was she wasn’t really. The summer of my 8th grade year my family was taken into foster care and then shortly half moved away and was adopted by a family in Sacramento. My older brother and I are the only two left here in Reno. Adrian my brother owns a local barber shop. As for me Reno has changed my life. I graduated from Spanish Springs H.S. in 2011 in which I did not know I could. Then I was blessed with the opportunity of moving into the Nevada Youth Empowerment Project where they have helped be become the person I am today. I went from a poor kid with out a future to a poor kid with goals and ambitions. I will be attending Truckee Meadows Community College in the Fall to study History and Culinary Arts. From a scared street kid to a Young lady. Without the help form my teachers and foster parents and Social Workers who believed that I could do anything I put my mine too, I would not know where I’d be today. Thanks Reno for your help.
